San Rafael

San Rafael is large, centrally located, culturally diverse, and has a neighborhood (and home!) to fit every budget. There are several blocks of shops and restaurants along the Fourth Street corridor, which is the heart of the town. Hands down, San Rafael is home to the two best Farmer’s Markets in Marin. Every Sunday, meet at the Civic Center from 8:00 am-1:00 pm or try the Downtown Farmer’s Market May through September 6th from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. Both markets have live music, kid entertainment, and incredible fruits, veggies, and crafts from local artisans. Home to one of Marin’s most well-known private schools, Marin Academy, San Rafael public schools include Bahia VistaColeman, and Glenwood elementary schools; Laurel DellSan PedroShort, and Sun Valley, K-8-Venetia Valley, and Davidson middle schools; and for high schools, Madrone HighTerra Linda High, and San Rafael High.

The small towns within San Rafael are as diverse as the community, and single-home prices range from $700,000 to $5,000,000.
